CELTIC TIGERS 10 IN A ROW FOR BOWMAN SHIELD

It has recently been revealed that after an administrative error our club did in fact win the prestigeous Max Bowman shield at the 2009 Country Club Championships.

Enquiries by boys Executive Officer, Tony Squire led to a recount after he was of the opinion that the initial result, which had us in third place, was incorrect.

After the recount Celtic Tigers were on 27 points, Bendigo Generals 26 and Exies also with 26. An Exies side however were involved in a drawn game (games are supposed to go into overtime to get a result ) they were awarded 1 point for the draw which led to both Celtic Tigers and Exies now being deemed joint winners of the shield.

This is a fantastic result for the club as it is the tenth (10th) year in succession that we have won this award.

Our 2009 Christmas break up was held in late November at the WSEC with over 150 children in attendance.
Santa arrived at 6-30pm and a great BBQ cooked by Club members.  Medal presentations were made to all players in attendance. There were games and prizes and lots and lots of lollies!!! A great night was had by all with parents joining in the fun with picnics.  An overall success which highlighted the change of time from a weekend to a training night.
